Principal photography took place in Iceland.
Hafursey, the single green mountain with black sand all around it, stood in the background for Noah's tent. It is close to the town of Vik in the south part of Iceland. Only a 4 wheel drive car or a jeep can get you there.
Raufarhólshellir lava cave near Vík is used as the underground home for Noah's father (by Anthony Hopkins). The cave is one of the better known lava caves in Iceland and it’s easily reachable. It is about 1,360m long, 10-30m wide and up to 10m high.. It takes about an hour to reach the cave from Reykjavik in a car.
The Reynisfjara beach, on Icelan's South Coast, is covered in black sand out to the sea and it is widely regarded as the most impressive non-tropical beach in Iceland. It lies approximately 110 miles (180 km) from Reykjavik, near the village Vik in Myrdalur. The last scenes of the Noah were filmed here.
Cape Dyrhólaey is the Iceland's most southerly point. It is known for its massive arch made by volcanism.
The nearby sea stacks of Reynisdrangar can be seen off the coast.
Other Iceland locations include Djúpavatnsleið, Sandvík, Lambhagafjara, Undirheimanáma by Kleifarvatn, and Leirhnjúkar by Mývatn.
